Hypernet is teaming up with a CLEC in Cleburne

Hypernet Communications will partner with 1stel, Inc., the first CLEC (Competitive Local Exchange Carrier) to break ground and collocate with Cleburne’s predominant phone company. 1stel, in alliance with Hypernet Communications, will provide voice, broadband Internet connections, and web services to local businesses.

1stel and Hypernet worked together to lay the fiber from the 1stel office to the Cleburne phone company during the third week of June. With the fiber interconnected, 1stel has the ability to provide both voice and data to the businesses of Texas.

Partnering with Hypernet, 1stel is capable of supplying a business with a choice number of phone lines, a broadband Internet connection, web site design, web hosting, and much more. As a single point of contact, 1stel simplifies the voice and data communications of a business, and with one bill and one contact, a business will save time and money.

“As the date draws closer to when we will go live with our first customer, the anticipation mounts,” said Natalie Howard, 1stel Telco Coordinator. “Here at 1stel, we are striving to provide you with a voice and data solution that will exceed your present services.”

1stel, Inc., a CLEC since September 1999, will provide business customers combined voice, data, and Internet services. 1stel’s objective is to provide integrated voice and data solutions to the businesses of Texas, which will enable a business to run more efficiently by combining all of their communications over a single network.

Established in early 1996, Hypernet Communications has built a reliable network for Internet access throughout North-Central Texas and dial-up access locations in 35 states. Hypernet also provides web site design, web hosting, collocation, and much more, to both business and residential customers.

Coming Soon to a Browser Near You: .info and .biz!
The Internet is expanding into the .info and .biz world. With the worldwide use of the Internet, additional suffixes are needed to supply both businesses and individuals with sufficient domains names. Currently, the most common suffixes of domain names are .com, .net, and .org. Government agencies use .gov, and most educational facilities use .edu.

Now, ICANN, Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers has approved the use of two new domain name suffixes—.info and .biz.

.Info
The “Sunrise Period” of early registration for .info domains is tentatively scheduled to begin July 25th and run through August 27th. Only those with current, registered trademarks issued prior to October 2, 2000, are eligible to register for a .info domain name during the “Sunrise Period”. Domains registered during this period require a 5-year minimum registration, and if criteria are met, submissions will be chosen on a random basis. There is no guarantee that submissions registered during the “Sunrise Period” will be given to the first registered.

The “Landrush Period” is tentatively scheduled to begin September 12th. The .info domains will be available to the general public and must have a minimum of a 2-year registration period. With the random selection of domain names during the “Landrush Period,” there is once again, no guarantee who or which business will receive the domain name. The “Registry Live Period” is tentatively scheduled to begin September 19th after the “Landrush Period” and also requires a minimum of a 2-year registration. The “Registry Live Period,” however, will be processed in real-time, on a first-come, first-served basis.

.Biz
For the .biz registry, “Domain Name Application” begins on June 25th and is scheduled through September 17th. Domain names registered during this period require a 2-year registration. Because there is a random selection process for all .biz names, there is no guarantee which business will receive the domain name. Registrants may cancel applications from September 18th through September 25th.

The “Registry Live Period” for .biz is tentatively scheduled for October 1, 2001. Registered domain names also require a 2-year minimum. The “Registry Live Period” in an indefinite period of time, and domain registrations will be available to businesses and will be processed in real-time, on a first-come, first-served basis.

There is a charge for registration of both .info and .biz. For more information, please e-mail a Hypernet representative at newdomains@hyperusa.com.

Dirt
Ingredients:
• Chocolate pudding
• Oreo cookie crumbs
• Gummy worms
• Glasses (clear plastic are best)

Instructions:
Prepare chocolate pudding mix as instructed on package. Fill glasses 3/4 full of pudding. Sprinkle Oreo crumbs on top of pudding. Stick gummy worms in the crumbs. Now you have a cup of dirt (and worms) that the kids will enjoy!

Apple Smiles
Ingredients:
• Apples

• Miniature Marshmallows

Instructions:
First, cut the apples into wedges. Next, smear the peanut butter on one side of both wedges.
