Know Before You Go: Screen It!
If you are planning a night out to the movies or staying home with a good video, Screen It! has information on hundreds of movies to help you select the one to view.

Named one of the top five most useful movie sites in the world by film critic Roger Ebert, Screen It! lists in depth, unbiased reviews informing parents and others about movies, videos and CDs. A husband and wife team created Screen It! in March of 1996 to give parents the option to access content about popular entertainment that their children may be exposed to. It is not intended as censorship, but rather as an information guide to help people decide whether a movie/video/CD is appropriate for them and/or their children.

Until Screen It!, parents did not have a resource to learn about the specific content of a movie before they or their children viewed it. The Motion Picture Association of America's rating system of PG, PG-13, R, etc., is effective for general screening. However, because the husband and wife team is not affiliated with any political, social or religious group, the reviews listed on Screen It! are more in depth and unbiased.

Each review lists categories that occur within the movie/video/CD. Within each category, Screen It! explains in detail specific content about that scene or portion of the song. Each film is assigned a rating that summarizes the degree and quantity of the content in each category. Some of the categories include "sex/nudity", "violence" and "profanity". Every potentially offensive scene and line of dialogue is also listed in detail. Screen It! provides an easy-to-use search guide by categorizing movies/videos/CDs alphabetically and according to rating or genre.

The couple who brought this wonderful asset to Internet surfers hopes to expand the service to provide more reviews of older titles and eventually review video/computer games and television programming.

You can find reviews of Summer Catch, The Others, and Rat Race now in theatres, as well as, hundreds of other titles at www.screenit.com.
