Local Business Undergoes Name Change: JCINet Becomes Hypernet Communications
Cleburne, Texas - March 10, 1997-"As things grow and change in the Internet industry, you have to be willing to change with it." And with that statement, Douglas Bowyer, President and CEO of Johnson county Internet Services, announced the official name change to Hypernet Communications, which takes effect immediately. Bowyer said that as new equipment was acquired, and service areas expanded, it became necessary for the company to be able to present an image that was larger than just Johnson County.

"Sometimes it's tough to sell a localized name on a regional basis, thus the change to Hypernet Communications," Bowyer added. Hypernet Communications will begin offering Internet service in Ellis County next week and has been servicing portions of Tarrant County since late February.

Also taking effect March 15th will be expanded support hours from 9am till 9pm, seven days a week. Hypernet Communications will make its first public appearance at the Johnson County Junior Livestock Show later in the week and will be posting results of the show to the World Wide Web.
