Monitor Resolution How to Check or Change Your Monitor Resolution Go to the Start icon on your desktop and then Settings. Go to Active Desktop and then Customize my Desktop. Once in Customize my Desktop, go to Settings. There is a section on this screen that says Screen Settings. You can change your monitor resolution by moving the bar to the left or to the right. The lower the number of pixels, the larger the icons, et cetera, on your screen. Once the changes have been made, click OK. If you only wish to check your resolution, do not change the setting under Screen Settings.
