Netscape 4.0 and greater
First, You need a Connection
  • You can use Netscape for your web browser just as easily as you can use Internet Explorer.
  • The first thing you will want to do is create a Hypernet connection.
  • After you create the Hypernet connection, RIGHT click it and click create shortcut. It will tell you it can't; however, click yes.
  • Once you do this, close everything until you are back at the beginning screen. You should see something that says shortcut to Hypernet. You will use this to dial-out and connect to Hypernet. After you are connected, you will double-click your Netscape icon to browse the Internet.
Next, you want to configure Netscape
  • To configure Netscape, first double-click the Netscape icon.
  • On the screen that comes up, click on Edit and then Preferences.
  • On this screen, click Navigator on the left and on the right at location, type www.hyperusa.com
  • After you do this, click the plus sign to the left of Mail and Newsgroups.
  • Below Mail and Newsgroups, click Identity.
  • On the right side of the screen, type your name in the Your Name blank and type your e-mail address is the Email Address blank.
  • Next, click Mail Servers on the left-hand side.
  • On the right of this screen, type smtp.hyperusa.com in the outgoing mail server blank.
  • On the right where it says outgoing mail server username type your username.
  • On the right side at the top, click add, and it will bring up a new screen.
  • On the new screen in the server name blank, type pop3.hyperusa.com on the server type blank, change it to read pop3 server. Type your username in the username blank. If you want it to save your password, click remember password. After you type in that information, click OK.
  • It will take you back to the previous screen. Click OK on it, as well.
  • Now your Netscape is setup and ready to go.
