Dial-up Networking
Making a New Connection
  • Click on Start and then Control Panel.
  • Pick switch to Classic View from the menu on the left (if it does not already say Classic View at the Top).
  • Double-Click on the Network Connections Icon.
  • On the left hand side under Network Tasks click on Create a New Connection.
  • This will start the New Connection Wizard, click Next on the first screen.
  • Choose Connect to the Internet and click Next.
  • Choose Setup My Connection Manually and click Next.
  • Choose Connect Using A Dial-up Modem and click Next.
  • In the ISP Name field type Hypernet and click Next.
  • In the Phone Number field type the 10 digit local number that you will use and click Next.
  • Type your username and password into the appropriate fields, leave the check boxes checked and click Next.
  • You can choose to create a shortcut on the desktop by placing a check in the box, then click Finish.
  • Close out of any open windows.
  • You can start you dial-up connection by clicking on Start, then Connect To, and then click on Hypernet.
